"Het Steen"

For two years I worked at Visit Antwerpen, the tourist office of the City of Antwerp; first as a destination marketer, then as a content expert. One of the most exciting projects I worked on during that period was the reopening of the well-known monument "Het Steen" and the accompanying experience trail: The Antwerp Story. For this project, I read all the museum texts and adjusted them where necessary, and I also took care of the proofreading of the Spanish translations.

Discover Antwerp

During my time at Visit Antwerpen, I worked as an editor on the website ontdek.antwerpen.be ("Discover Antwerp"). I collected great content ideas and formats for all sorts of activities in Antwerp, and helped write them.

Social media

Trained in the use of social media? Check! As a true digital native, I shared my knowledge with Visit Antwerpen about Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, and I helped managing pages such as This is Antwerp, Visit Antwerpen and Ask Antwerpen. The recipe for my posts? Mix an eye-catching photo, with informative and sharp copy, et voilà! Let’s get posting!

B2C Campaigns

As destination marketer for Visit Antwerpen, I worked on numerous B2C campaigns that promoted Antwerp as a tourist destination. Not only did I give input on image and text, but I also co-directed external copywriters. This for well-known magazines and websites such as L'Incontournable, Time to Momo, Guide du Routard, Expocultur and CityZapper.

About Language

"Objectivity, a journalistic illusion?" That was the question I asked myself for an article that I published in the journal Over Taal (“About Language”): a general and scientific journal about language, communication, and everything related to it. My article could be read under the section Taalkronkels ("Language Quirks").

Pomax Catalogue

I have had the good fortune to collaborate twice already with the wonderful home furnishing brand Pomax, both for the fall/winter catalogue of 2022, and the spring/summer catalogue of 2023. About my French > Dutch translations, they said: "We couldn't be happier with the result! The translations were of a very high quality. Laura works very quickly, efficiently and flexibly."
